Meteorology AI Applications Intern
Wet Dog Weather is looking for one or two summer interns to explore how AI can accelerate the development of weather data dashboards.
We create tools that turn complex weather data into insights and intuitive visualizations. This internship is focused on a specific goal: using AI tools to prototype new dashboard ideas and workflows.
You’ll be working hands-on with our platform to explore what’s possible and what’s actually useful.
If you’re curious about where AI fits into real-world development, this is a chance to experiment, build, and document what you learn.
What You’ll Do
- Build proof-of-concept weather dashboard(s) using our platform
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to assist with coding, design, and iteration
- Explore different workflows for AI-assisted development
- Test and refine ideas to understand what works (and what doesn’t)
- Document your process, findings, and outcomes clearly
- Work independently on a project, with regular team check-ins
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking college students with a background or strong interest in:
- Meteorology
- Data science
- Software engineering
Required
- Understanding of meteorology fundamentals
- Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini
- Strong writing skills for documenting technical work
- Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a green card
- Must be located in the United States
Helpful:
- Familiarity with JavaScript

We are a Software as a Service company, and we charge accordingly. Our customers rent their own Boxer stack and gain access to our Terrier front-end libraries. We process a variety of standard data sets, which is…. standard. But we also process custom data you may buy or generate yourself. That’s where things get interesting
